Dead Pixel

Posted by Adi Wong On August - 23 - 2007

When I got home yesterday, I saw a 20cm black line through my screen, I was wondering what was going wrong. After flicking my screen with different background color, I noticed that it is DEAD PIXEL. Man, I was sad to see that, it was bought less then a year, I am hoping that it would be covered as this is really bothering me.

I was searching for my warranty card and my resit. If anyone knows LG Policy on their LCD Monitors, let me know.

Show Adsense between post for Blogspot

Posted by Adi Wong On August - 22 - 2007

This is great news for user of blogspot.com or blogger.com. It is even easier and more flexible with this new function.  There is some limitation that you could only have Google Adsense for the inline advertisements and some of the old customized templates will not work with this, you may have to consider newer templates.

But you did not pay for hosting or the domain, therefore everything you earn from Adsense or any advertisements program is pure profit (deducting your own time & pay).

To learn how you could show adsense between post.

Posted by Adi Wong On August - 22 - 2007

This is just a very simple technique, and a one click thing. But it will be useful from time to time.

Sometimes, you face this when you are scanning your pictures, taking pictures from an uneven ground or even some stranger taking your picture may end up like this.

All you need is a photoshop CS2 or CS3. If you can do that with an older version, let me know.

Now you just have to do the following:-

  1. File > Automate > Crop and Straighten Photos
  2. You may want to crop some of the mess or whitespot.

Blogging Momentum

Posted by Adi Wong On August - 21 - 2007

Do you know that when your blog become famous, whatever you blog about will make you more famous and more money?

This is what I call blogging momentum. When your blog gain momentum to excel, most people would actually be supporting you, but when your blog is not in anyone radar, you will get noting.

If you look out there, there is some blog which I used to visit and carry pretty good content in the past, but currently does not update often, and the content is no longer good. But the blog is still famous and a have a lot of visitor. This is because the blog have already got its momentum. It takes hardwork to get a blog to have everyone trust and loyal reader, but once you have reach such a point, it is going to be much easier. Anything you have started, or any community you are in, it would eventually be success as long as people knows about it from your main blog.

Google is removing PageRank?

Posted by Adi Wong On August - 21 - 2007

Pagarank will be define by some webmaster as totatly useless number whom other webmaster are trying to gain. PageRank currently is a way to determine a website value, an ads value in a particular website or price of a link.

Although there is different alternatives to determine the value of the website such as Alexa, Technorati Ranking (only for blogs)and Compete, pagerank is one of the hardest to manipulate and I would say pretty fair. Definately there are people using Blackhat technique to manipulate Pagerank succesfully, but overall it is quite good and effective.

Webmaster spend months and years trying to get higher pagerank that increase the value of their website. Pagerank is update usually 4 times a year, but the exact time and date is never known.

Now the main discussion is to determine if Google is serious about removing Pagerank. You could see that people discussing in Digital Point intensely.

My thoughts on this is that Google would not remove this Pagerank algorithm. My reasoning:-

  • Open up opportunity for other search engine
  • After all the hardwork, Google is willing to cut off its matemathician
  • How is Google going to rank all websites now?

Anyway, you won’t know what Google is up to next.
