I am sure all adsense publisher would get this email about the changes. Basically the bonuses for referring new publisher reduced. I would think that the cruicial benefit which is removed is that you get $5 when your referral earned $5 within 180days. This is because it is hard, real hard to get $100 in adsense within 180days. Unless the referral bought a existing website to start off.

On February, countries in North America, Latin America and Japan will enjoy only $100 for when referral gets $100 within 180 days. While other countries will no long get anything for referral.

I think the reason is that those countries listed above are those who manage to perform well and most probably purchases online is highest, which allows online advertising be effective.

Squidoo has been here quite a while, but it has not found me until recently when my brother went for a seminar on making money online. Basically, Squidoo is like Million Dollar Wiki, but it is free to take any lens (which is what they call a page) available. On the other hand, you will share revenue with Squidoo for profit generated.

It is actually quite a good idea to start this website but credibility is very doubtful comparing with Wikipedia. While Million Dollar Wiki had much more freedom including adsense code, affiliates and much more. Squidoo limits to only affiliate links, amazon products, orbitz referral and eBay referral.

The payment sharing formula is

5% on top will go to charity foundation, then the rest is shared 50%/50% between editor and squidoo. Not sure if the adsense is shared, which I doubt they could calculate them per post.

Although Squidoo may actually be a good place to get a credible related link. All you have to do is to create a lens with your target keyword, write a good post explaning things about the keyword and the link back to your website. Their system is quite user friendly, which is why you could complete doing your page in minutes.

If you check, most well known lens have high Page Rank, therefore I strongly that it will definately be helpful to get a link from a Squidoo’s Lens.

This Adsense Referral’s Change of Rules is kind of like geographicist, I thought that online advertising and publisher overseas is increase. Then why decreasing our benefits? The website says

If you’re in North America, Latin America, or Japan, the pricing structure for AdSense referrals is changing

I could only say that I am not dependant on this at all as I do not refer anyone. Oh, I did sometime back, but it did not work out well and I earned nothing. Until now, I did not try refering anyone yet. Althouth, that was my plan to include the referral on this new website when I have it established.

The amount could be pretty large if your site could refer tones of new people to sign up for adsense. There is good potential if you have the traffic and you could guide your referral to earn their first USD100 in the first 180days for your to qualified the USD250 payment.

There is a lot of o keyboard shortcut that are not know to, it is just like a post about WordPress Hidden Function that most people may not know at that time. It takes a while for your to get use to the Keyboard Shortcut but once you are familiar with it, you are basically hooked. This is not the normal ctrl+c (copy) or ctrl+v (paste), no doubt they are the most used function by me.

Try this keyboard shortcut. When you are at a browser type the domain (without http:// and .com)

• ctrl+enter : the outcome ”riceblogger” will be turned into http://www.riceblogger.com
• shift+enter : the outcome “riceblogger” will be turned into http://www.riceblogger.net
• ctrl+shift+enter : the outcome “riceblogger” will be turned into http://www.riceblogger.org

To open a page in a new tab:

• Click on the link with your scroller button. A new tab will open with the link. [This is quite useful and use often]
• type the domain into the address bar and click alt+enter. The new tab will open with the domain typed.

Switch between tab should be known to most people by now, but for those who don’t know it is ctrl+tab (hold ctrl and click tab until you get the page you are looking for). It is not quite similar with Windows+Tab because it does not go back to the last used page.

I am a little slow in joining Entrecard. For those who don’t know and have not joined this, they are actually a banner exchange program. You could see someone else banner running right now on the right panel. You let other website advertise on your website, and in exchange you will get some credit which could be used to advertise on other people’s website.

There is three version of banner and I am using the medium size. All banner is fixed at 125 x 125, only the Entrecard changes. There is benefit to use bigger banner as people will not be having trouble finding your entrecard to drop you a card, thus raising your advertising rate. Here is a look at my personalized banner and my widget.

The cost to advertise varies from different website to different website. They are simply calculated in the following method:-

To advertise your card on someone else’s widget, it costs the number of credits equal to twice the number of cards dropped on that widget each day. So if a widget receives an average of 50 cards dropped into it each day, advertising on that widget will cost 100 credits per day. This helps insure that for every two credits you pay, a unique user will see your ad and be clicking in the general vicinity. It also ensures the economy balances, because every time you drop your card, it creates two credits. That surplus mus be balanced via advertising costs.

After tinkering it for a day, I manage to understand the benefit of using Entrecard. You could actually gain traffic out of it and the credit system they use, makes it fair for all bloggers/webmaster to compete equally for the credit. If your blog have lower traffic, you will work for it and visit other people blog to drop your card on their Entrecard widget. This way, you introduce yourself to the website owner, and at the same time earn you a credit to advertise.

This is quite a good system, I hope that they would be able to monetized it because they would not sustain doing this for free. Give it a try and let me know what you think.
