I don’t think a lot of people know this because I don’t quite see people using this commenting system or even embedding this into their new blogspot templates. Many people find Blogspot commenting style quite disturbing, including myself. This is because it involve loading popup, knowing that some blog will not allow you to comment if you do not own a blogger account, and sometimes captcha.

Jackbook has actually come out with a hack which could enable visitor to comment on the same page as the posting page.

By editing the image, it could also look very similar to wordpress commenting.’ 

It takes a while to look for the code, especially if you have a custom theme. Therefore remember to backup you theme.

Make sure you follow the instruction carefully. I would recommend you to copy the code in a text file and then recopy it back to your blogspot template.

Basically, the important thing to know before having a blog or website is that “The best coded, best designed, most advance website would not do any good if you have only 1 visitor, yourself”.

I would recommend PlanetMy, PPS and Ping.sg to you are from South East Asia. PlanetMy grab your feed automatically for blogspot owner. While PPS and Ping.sg could only be done automatically if your are using Wordpress. Because it is community based, and everyone is from the same region, it is much easier to get visitor. Facebook/Friendster – Social Networking Website
You could also give all friends / family member a message (do not spam them 10 times a day) that you have a new blog that is about a particular topic. Facebook does have some nifty application that could post your feed on your profile which could increase your chance of visitor visiting your blog base on certain subject that you have posted.

Twitter
There is no doubt that Twitter does bring traffic to your blog. This is included that you post your feed on twitter. You just need to link your feed to your twitter account once, and everything is done automatically after that. Then all you need is to follow other twitter account and eventually you someone will start follow you. Here is my Twitter Account.

It is as important to have updates on your blog and visitor. If you do not have both of them, your blog will not be consider a blog, rather you could do better off be an offline diary.

Rice Blogger is now officially on Yahoo! Directory as my personal blog. This is actually a long story because my domain with my name is actually drop and I did not plan to renew it, but it was already listed on Yahoo! Directory for years. I notice that there is a lot of people catching my domain thinking that they could profit from it because it cost USD299 to be listed on Yahoo Directory for business listing.

I recently email Yahoo regarding the listing and change this domain as my personal blog. They are quite responsive.

If you are thinking of learning Chinese/Mandarin by yourself and save some tuition money. Try out nciku, I am sure it will provide you some help. Nciku is not only a English to Chinese dictionary but you could translate pinyin to English word.

The best feature yet is the ability to accept handwritten Chinese characters with the help of flash. Look at my ugly writing of the word “Wo” that means “Me”. I am pretty bad in Chinese words, but this would definitely be useful in the future.

They are currently only in beta mode, but I am sure there is much more letters, sound and video to be included into this great English to Chinese Dictionary.

Is there a formula for PageRank calculation? I am sure there is because they will need a way to calculate pagerank given to each website. Everyone is trying to find out the formula but Google is always adding and removing different variables that will affect your pagerank. Smart PageRank has actually came out with a nice chart showing the statistics of how your website will rank base on incoming link.

It is a good reference on how you could obtain your pagerank base on backlinks.

There is no doubt that incoming link does play a big role in PageRank Calculation, but you should know that there is related backlink (link from website of the same category/keyword) and unrelated backlink (link from a unrelated field), which is why there is a gap between the ’start’ and ‘finish’
