Posted by Adi Wong On May - 21 - 2008

I have some catching up to do after 2 days of slow slow connection. There is little to be done because I can’t download / upload any files. Normal surfing around the Internet is just causing more frustration. I manages to read some update via feed regarding a Free Photoshop eBook by Sitepoint. Although I have not taken any time to read through this Free eBook, with 295pages of Information, this book is filled with basic to advance photoshop technique.

It is only up for a limited amount of time. Currently there is only 22 days and 12 hours before the free photoshop ebook is brought down.

You could choose to download the low-res if have slow internet connection. Since my connection is back, I don’t mind waiting 10 minutes for the 64mb high resolution copy.

Slow Slow Connection

Posted by Adi Wong On May - 16 - 2008

I did not know that slow connection actually will affect my productivity that much. I am trying to surf and email at the same time but everything does not seem to move at all. Luckily, I have upgraded my blog there is no need to do any FTP. It is only until today that Malaysia decided to invest for better broadband

I can’t post any picture because the loading is very slow plus this new version of wordpress loads really slow when I am trying to upload a picture. Hopefully out Malaysia TMNut will buck up and do something about this. I think every now and then they should see a blogger complain about this stuff.

Do the Green Thing

Posted by Adi Wong On May - 15 - 2008

You may have notice that every single computer maker is going towards green. They are actually rating each computer to see which is greener (energy efficient, recyclable parts and toxicity of computer). An interesting article about “Where can I find a Green Computer?” shows a list of desktop and notebook which are greener.

Then I found this video about MacBook Air

If you can’t resist buying a MacBook Air, you should buy the MacBook Air Green Edition.

There is tones of video and things you could do to make this world a greener world at Do the Green Thing.

Blogging from the Scratch

Posted by Adi Wong On May - 14 - 2008

I think the most common ways and the easiest to start a blog is by using blogging platform like Blogspot or WordPress. This is because there is basically no commitment, no payment, and both blogging platform is good and both have its own advantage. If you would like to experience or learn more about blogging, it would be a great place to start.

Blogspot
Blogspot is basically much easier to use, there is little to no extra function to what you could do with your blogpost. Despite the limited function in posting, blogspot does have more customization the its templates.

If you need any templates just search for “Blogger Templates” or “Blogspot Templates” from search engine.

blogspot

Advantage of Blogspot: Minimal Function for beginners, Accept Advertisements, Many Free Blogspot Templates and Accept Own Domain (yourname.com)

Disadvantage of Blogspot: No Categorization of posting, Any third party widget needs to be install manually into the layout.

WordPress
Wordpress is more complicated but it is a very powerful blogging platform but may be too complicated for some of the beginner blogger.  There is tones of themes  and widget which is ready to be added into your blog.  Unlike  blogspot, you will have more settings to manage post, pages, comments and widgets. wordpress

Advantages of WordPress: All the function needed, Categorization, Multiple Blog Author with different permission and role, Keyword Tag to provide better exposure to your site, and Built in visitor statistics.

Disadvantage of WordPress: Fixed Theme, third party statistics are not allowed, and no advertisements.

Overall, both is very good for anyone who would like to start blogging and both is Free.

How does Adwords’ Keyword bids work?

Posted by Adi Wong On May - 13 - 2008

I have recently started few Adwords Campaign for some to Learn about PPC and Amazon Associates, which was learn during my Internet Marketing BootCamp in Malaysia. I have promoted 4 items ranges from USD200+ to USD1788. The bids is different for all four item because the return on this are different. Amazon pays all its associates 4% for all sales (except for laptop sales that is fixed).

Today, I notice a post at Official Google Blog about how auction ads sets ad prices. and I thought that it is quite interesting for people who are interested to invest in Search Engine Marketing (SEM). I think it is quite crucial to learn how is the price set and how much you should bid for a keyword.

No doubt that the Adwords trick that is leart from the Internet Marketing Bootcamp does generate traffic, but I am still unable to convert them for a profit using Amazon Product.
