PPS is risking its Pagerank

Posted by Adi Wong On April - 13 - 2009

PPS or also called as Project Petaling Street  is the very first Malaysia Blog aggregator in Malaysia. It has created quite a controversial when it was sold to another blogger in Malaysia. But despite the downside, I am pretty happy since someone is actually going to make a change in PPS that basically had not changed much since it started like 5 or 6 years back. The initial founder has tried incorporating blog directory, a blog, feed aggregator with few different php scripts, and other changes. Unfortunately it did not materialize and was left untouch for at least 1 year or 2 now.

Now the new PPS is selling advertisements space of 125 x 125 banner and also Text Link. It is hard to get people with high pagerank to sell text link because they also risk their hard work of getting there. Did I mention that they are DoFollow text link?

So if you are itnerested to buy some link, you can contact VCTech Network, who is the new owner of PPS.

i wonder how much was the deal… the new look is quite advertisement oriented. Seems like people just want to make a pile.

He wants quick money I guess? :)

    hmm interesting..

If you don’t like it, then don’t use it.

PPS can do without complainers like you.

It does not exist as a charity.

Whoever owns it has the right to do whatever they want to cover their costs of operation.

If you’re not happy, please find another blog aggregator.

Neo: I guess….i know cost is high maintaining pps therefore the owner definitely need to look for more alternative method to earn money….

gotohell: did you even read the post before commenting? I guess not, I am just commenting on the text link….

Let me recommend you a better way of saying this:
If you’re not happy, please contact Google and report text link selling.

Also, you just don’t have the guts to identify yourself right?

  6. lilian says:

It is blog suicide selling those links. Google never forgive me and some of my blogs remained forever PR 0 eventhough I tried appealing and took off the links.

  7. Adi Wong says:

    lilian: I know, I experience it myself too…hehe…congrats on your PR5 anyway…

  8. molly says:

Is there other blog aggregators besides PPS?

  9. Shall I sell text link on Planet Malaysia links? hehehhe

  10. Adi Wong says:

Planet Malaysia: that is your choice…it is a short term gain for a long term loss…unless you are planing to close it down.

  11. Kai Lo says:

Selling DoFollow text links… that is very clever. When that person loses 50% of his traffic, he might want to fill out the reconsideration form for Google.

  12. Adi Wong says:

Kai Lo – and that does not guarantee you PR back…I have got them back in one site and lost PR forever in another site with PR0.

  13. Adi Wong says:

molly: there is others like blogged.my and planetmalaysa that I use. But it is just sad to see PPS go down the drain just like that

  14. Kai Lo says:

Stay on the good side and work harder to get results!

  15. Marvin Lee says:

Now that’s the reason the interface has changed.
Didn’t know management changed until i read your post.
