Color Picker

Posted by Adi Wong On September - 24 - 2008

Previously I have written about Firefox Color Picker and also another Desktop Colour Picker. Since Ades is changing its Color Picker to a freeware, I have decided to give it a try.

Similar to the previous desktop color picker client, you could store more than one color (10 for Ades Color Picker) for your reference later. I am actually using both Firefox color picker and my desktop color picker at the same time because of its convenience. Depending on which is easier for me to access.

Here is how Ades’s Color Picker looks like.

It is just a small bar that floats on top of other windows, this is useful because it does not disturb me while I am doing my work. You could pick colors in HTML, RGB, Delphi, C++ and VB codes.

Great software that is provided free.

You can give it a try and download Color Picker.

  1. I read a review a long time ago about Ades Color Picker and it seemed pretty useful. Nice to see it being free now!

  2. Ades says:

    Thanks for the mention!

  3. Thanks for sharing, will check it out

  4. GH4 says:

I don’t suppose there is anything out there that takes this 1 step further as a FF addon is there? For example, like this: http://www.hypergurl.com/colormatch.php

  5. Danny Cooper says:

Another firefox plugin I haven’t seen, there’s just so many great plugins around.

  6. San Nayak says:

Hey, is this a browser tool? I guess yes, i like to have minimum number of tools installed as it normally slows my browser which i hate about.

  7. SoLinkable says:

Not bad… I dont really have a great use for it, but thanks nonetheless.

  8. Slick tool! I’ve been using ColorZilla in Firefox, but Ades looks like a great desktop tool. I’ll have to recommend it to my wife, since she does much more design than I do these days.

  9. kouji says:

pretty useful software, i feel. and you can’t beat the price. :)

  10. Michael says:

I use ColorZilla all the time and I am going to try this one out to see how well it works compared to it. ColorZilla saves me tons of time when I am developing a website and hopefully this one will too.

  11. It looks good, although I’m currently using ColorZilla.

Site Node: may I recommend changing font to something a little more readable.

  12. Adi Wong says:

Simon: I am able to see the font properly. Is it too small for you?

  13. This color-picking program is quite useful as it would serve to speed up the selection of a color from a color scheme one has set up to use. One wouldn’t need to go back and forth, checking color values, when they are all shown next to each other in the browser.

  14. Super easy to use tool! Wow! Everything is clear and designed very well. Saves a lot of time and now I don’t need to start any browser in order to use its plugins for color capturing. Thanks a lot Ades for such an easy to use color picker and for the best price – FREE! I’ll send the link to this wonderful tool to all my friends.
