SEO Changed So Much

Posted by Adi Wong On November - 12 - 2012

I must say that I had not blog much or concentrate much on what I always liked to do online, which is to do Search Engine Optimization. But due to another newborn, migrating and new job role, I am struggling to keep this interest. Also at the same time, it is no longer profiting for me to do this.

Previously I own tones of website and all frequently update. But now I only own a hand full of core website that I focus. At the same time, I felt sad that there is so many effort going onto these website and it seems to be going down. So I am trying to work on a few of my website mainly my Malaysia Classifieds which is the first website I have done, and then focus a Business Card Printing website that is more of little online business I had pass to my family to manage since I am no longer in Malaysia. Also trying to start some project that is more related to my career in telecommunication industry just to keep my interest.

So any tips, with all the Panda and Penguin, wonder if there any new way (white hat) to optimize my website? Any tips?

CloudFlare Review – Free CDN with Web Security

Posted by Adi Wong On October - 5 - 2010

Since Website speed actually affect your SEO rankings also your visitor experience it is higly recommended that you have a Content Delivery Network (CDN), but most of you will fall in the same category as me as we have little budget and most CDN service cost us monthly fee.

What I am about to introduce is much better it does not only improve your website speed, but reduces the bandwidth ussage, and on top of all those a bunch of basic security to identify and block new threats towards your website. All of this you will get by paying $0, yup nothing. They do provide a paid service of $20/month with advance security. I have tried it on one of my high ussage website and hope its performance does increase, but I am sure that SPAM is reduced so far.

Persenting…..CloudFlare, a service that acts as a proxy between your visitor and your webhosting company. It cashes static content so requests towards your service will reduced. Provides protection against Bots, Spam, Offline Browsing and Site Statistics.

It will be a hot service, as CloudFlare wins most innovative company award from TechCrunch Disrupt conference.

5 SEO Tips using Post Title

Posted by Adi Wong On August - 3 - 2009

Everytime I make a post, I am thinking of SEO on mind as my ultimate purpose is to get people searching for my post. There is some trick and technique to this and most season bloggers do this if you pay attention and study their posting method. Your post title play a very crucial role.

1. Write Post Title with Search Term

You have to always think of what a people would type at Google when they are doing a search. If you are writing about a car, have the car manufacturer, year, model included or the type of car,  having post title like “I like the new Honda” wound not help your Search Engine Traffic as most people would not search for this word and “new Honda” would be a competitive keyword.

2. Keyword Density

It is important for you to use the similar keyword that you have used in your title and use them at least once or twice the post body. Do not repeat them too often that you will actually get penalize.

3. Start with Long Tail Keyword

Try to aim for something smaller when your blog is new as you will not win the big boys by having the same title keyword for your post. Be specific so that you are targeting a niche and smaller crowd.

4. Make sure that your html title <title> does have your post title

Although it is mostly built in with most blogging theme / templates, you have to make sure of this. If you look at the following picture. You notice that the search terms are in bold and your website link is actually using the <title> of the current link or title of your blog post.

Another flexible alternative for WordPress user is to have All in One SEO Pack plugins installed. It is quite easy to use, but the latest version require some pre-configuration before you can actually use this plugin. Nevertheless, it is still a very powerful tool.

5. Permalink

This is a superb built in function on WordPress and Blogspot because having the post title on the link gives you a slightly better advantage over sites that does not have them. Although this may not ensure that you beat another website / blog that does not use this, but we are sure that it is taken into account because it will be highlited in bold.

Give this a try and you shall see some differences in time to come. SEO does not happen instantly, even if you have made some changes to your previous post, it will take days to week for Google Spiders to come crawling to your website and update their database.

Power of Internet Marketing

Posted by Adi Wong On November - 27 - 2008

This is an interesting topic about Internet Marketing. I am always fascinated about the power of Internet marketing because we use Internet so much that anything that we do not understand, we tend to search for it (at least for me).

I started this topic because I wrote a post about a clinic here in Klang, Malaysia in another blog. This is a post that I complaint about the unprofessional service that I have receives from the clinic. Yes, I was pissed and did not know where should I voice my complaint, therefore I decided to just post it just to take out my anger.

Never did I know, this post is now ranked 1st for the keyword “dr alice” or “dr. alice” for Google Malaysia and 3rd for Google.com for Malaysia searches.

Because the post is up it started a snowball, people elsewhere started to come to my blog and comment about Dr. Alice, mostly unprofessional stuff. And at the same time  someone representing her/might be herself is coming to my blog and emailing me to remove the post and offering me an apology letter from her.

The truth is that I have no intention of hiding the truth about my posting, and I have emailed her about the post when she replied with a standard email template. She would not have care about my blog if it did not reach such a high placing for her name.

My post will definitely stay. But I would like to know if I should remove those comments that actually have no proves/evidence?

Should I remove anything from my previous post?

  • Remove Comments (0%, 0 Votes)
  • Remove the post (0%, 0 Votes)
  • Remove the post, with apology letter (0%, 0 Votes)
