PageRank Update Report

Posted by Adi Wong On May - 6 - 2008

How did you do on this pagerank update? I have my ups and down on this update. Unfortunately one of my frequently blog have a Pagerank of 0 as of today. Wahlau.NET is one of my earliest domain registered and I like the name because it is slang used in my country. I can’t figure out why does it drop from PR3 to PR0 and kept resubmiting for reconsideration after doing some alteration. Previously, I just link them back to my other websites and my company website. There is no paid link at all. Wonder how the system determine which website violates their Terms and Condition.

New Website

My 2 months old New Website is currently PR 3. Not bad for a new website. I will be expecting more submission since it is now with Pagerank and it is rank second for the keyword “Latest Websites”. It does not pass out PageRank to avoid people spamming the homepage, but would generate some traffic for some new website.

There is still no movement at all for this blog, but I am happy with PageRank of 3.

As I know, you can’t link back from your blog to your other blogs and vice versa. And if you do, you must put nofollow tag. Before this I did like what you did, I put links to each of my blogs and then Google penalized me. And after I put the nofollow tag, Google rised back the PR on the next update.

Cypherhackz: thanks for the information. I understand it now. But still feels weird that I can’t link back to my own site.

previously my main URL are PR3, and so to subdomain, b’cos i am using redirect.

Google have long time take off my subdomain PR3, and give me PR0. i have submit a lot reconsideration to google

recently only give me a PR2 on my subdomain, i have no idea too.

by the way, as Cypherhackz mention, put a “no follow” tag at the link will not benefit all the link owner, only will benefit your self, google did not crawl “no follow” tag.

iCalvyn: interesting….but I still feel that no follow tag should be put into text link selling, but if you link to your own site, it should be allowed….but I guess it is hard for Google to track because there is private sale of text link.

It seems weird the Google would penalize you for only minimal personal site linking. Usually it takes tens or hundreds of personal site links to trigger a Google spam filter.
