I do not receive any SMS from Twitter because it is quite irritating and at the same time, because of difference in time zone I got updates in the middle of the night. But I do send update my Twitter account from my mobile to +44 762 480 1423.
But I though of a way to benefit from using Twitter free SMS because if your group of friends all subscribe to one twitter account. Indirectly, sending one sms would spread the message to all your friends. You send one SMS instead of 10 or 20 of your friends. Then another benefit is that you will not miss any friends.
Too bad this service is no longer available here in Malaysia and majority of the countries worldwide except USA, Canada and India.

Bit of a shame Twitter stop sending tweets to my phone. All the more reason for me to consider twitterific and an iPhone I guess.
But I’m also fairly certain there was a setting that could’ve been tweaked to allow Twitter to only send sms updates between certain hours of the day, so that wouldn’t have been an issue, getting updates in 3 or 4 in the morning.
