Plurk: Another Microblogging Platform

Posted by Adi Wong On July - 14 - 2008

I felt that there is actually too many Microblogging Platform coming out. Some do make it and others just fade away as time goes. My first Microblogging was Jaiku, because I felt more comfortable using it compare to Twitter with its comment nested with the topic starter and having feed included. Felt bad that Google acquire it and did not do anything other than keeping it invite only.

Plurk seems to be did something write compare to others with its weird emoticons, proper timeline, expression and karma. Although Plurk will does seem to have downtime, people are still giving it a try because it is new and there is space for correction.

Overall, Plurking is pretty simply and it look pretty simple to share video and picture with plurk. The timeline will need some getting use to and the emoticons and karma thing is pretty fun for Microblogging extras. Although it still lacks of Mobile Plurking capability, which I think should come by soon.
