For all those who would like to start their own blog or transfer their blog from some free hosting (blogspot, wordpress.com), it is actually a great idea.

Why I don’t start with blogspot?
You may be able to add adsense, mybloglog, textlinkads and other javascript or embeded code into your blogspot, there is always limitation on what you can do. Unlike wordpress, you could add tones of ready made plugins and there is always the option to programe your own plugins.

With a lot of automization plugins like adsense deluxe (adding adsense into a post is never easier), akismet (come standard with wordpress to prevent SPAM), Google Sitemap Generator, and much more useful plugins depending on your needs.

Wordpress is a better management of your content, theme, user, post and plugins.
Wordpress actually quite a good range of functions but at the same time, it is easy to use. There is no need to use the extra function if you choose not to use them. Function such as post timestamp (to write post for future), category, trackback and categories is always useful to making a good post.

Also there is a good blogroll management, which you could organize link into categories (although some theme may not support it). Unlike blogspot, there is no need to edit the templates to add/delete a link.

Support
Wordpress is so widely used, therefore there is a huge cummunity contributing to the stability, security and growth of Wordpress. There is also a good support forum for wordpress.

You could try wordpress function by signing up at Wordpress.com, you would need one to activate your akismet too.

A minor update on the status of this website. Another 4 days pass and it is recorded 3,785,880 on 26th.

It seems to be on track since my last update on Alexa ranking.

Now you could embed google map to forums, blog post, website by just copying and pasting the link provided.

All you have to do is to click on “Link to this page” on the top right of the map. Then you copy the embed link.

Here is the closest look at Klang, Malaysia. We could only see the Klang river flowing into the ocean. Most cities in US have much more closer look, even upto the building and some cars.

You may see this on a lot of webmaster forum who are suggesting to do a 3 way link exchange. This is actually a good method as Google will not see it as reciprocal link.

How 3 way link exchange works

There is 3 websites involve, which meas one of the people exchanging links will need to have 2 websites.

1. Owner 1 [owns Site A (high PR/Traffic site) and Site B (new site)]
2. Owner 2 [owns Site C (high PR/Traffic site]

In order to promote and exchange more links to go to Site B (new site), Owner 1 would offer a link from Site A to Site C and in return, Site C will link to Site B (not Site A).

After 11 days of blogging at RiceBlogger, Alexa finally shows some traffic rank. Previously it shows no data and it seems a little bad to let a statistic data shows no data.

Currently it shows, 7,995,409. Wow, this is so high compare to my other websites which are about 200 to 300k.

I know I have a long way to go, and would need a lot of support from other website to promote this website and bring the traffic up few hundred fold.

I have insisted to have alexa code installed even though it shows no data. This is because Alexa is detects the visitor’s visit when one of the following is acheived:-

1. Visitor have alexa toolbar installed
2. Forward visitor to alexa and then it will bounce back to your original domain
3. Install Alexa code

As the only method that is fully under your control is the 3rd, I have used this method.
