I first use Wordpress was on April 2005 (Wow, that was long and I don’t even remember that). Like any relationship it has its ups and downs, I stopped blogging for a while until I started again on September 2006 then it eventually diverted to Riceblogger as my favourite blog.

One important thing about wordpress is that it is not simply a blogging platform, but it is a CMS. With plugins, you can transform wordpress to a very powerful and SEO friendly website. For example, you can use wordpress as a Forum, as a social networking website, as a Membership Only Site, as a Review Site or simply a corporate website. This is how powerful Wordpress script is.

Most importantly the enormous amount of free wordpress plugins and free wordpress themes that will cost you nothing to start a website/blog. The community running wordpress is large and contributors are doing a great job adding plugins and templates.

Not to forget that Wordpress is actually making me some money for me and my family.

To be honest, I am writing this for a wordpress contest by wpwebhost as I think the prize money would help me out and other prizes would improve my experience in using the paid wordpress plugins for new projects. In the event that I am selected, I hope that I would get support from my readers. In return, if you need support when I am not selected but you are, feel free to drop me a comment here.

p/s How do you like the Rice + Wordpress logo?

Wow! Sounds like Wordpress is really darn powerful But I’m still using blogspot. Perhaps one day I could migrate to Wordpress. Anyway Adi can you please help me to raise fund for MAKNA (National Cancer Council). You every click & vote can raise RM5 for the needy cancer patient. Click here to vote and donate. Thank you very much.

I love Wordpress and I started using it over a year ago now. Wordpress is the easiest blogging platform for me. I have never got around to try Blogspot yet, and being so familiar with Wordpress I probably never will.

PS: The plugins are wonderful as well for Wordpress, users already made almost every plugin you can think of.

  7. Melayu Boleh says:

already know for long time ago. But still fine with current update. Did you try wordpress 2.8?

  8. Ben Pei says:

This is interesting. First time I am reading someone expressing their love for Wordpress. =)

  9. I love WP for the mere fact that it is immensely flexible. If you have sufficient programming knowledge, you can get it to do just about anything. I keep telling myself that I need to learn Joomla and the other CMSes available, however, WP has been able to offer me everything I need.

  10. Adi, I’ve left a comment in this post last week but don’t see it appeared, do you mind to check it for me?

    Thank you!

Robert: I had blogspot too but never use it before

Ben Pei: hehe…we should give our thanks once a while
Invisalisn: I have a website with joomla, it is a pain in the ass….I am even afraid to upgrade to newer version because of the complication
Bengbeng: haha….wordpress has done much much good to us, we should appreciate it….although we do complain about some bug and problem when we encounter one.. :)
